Each year the Kindergarten students at Marshall Academy celebrate the 100th Day of School. Sometimes this tradition is accompanied by a balloon release which includes a note about the event and school. This summer Kindergarten teacher Mindy Gresham received a letter from a gentleman named Chris Ivy from Fairview, Tennessee. Mr. Ivy had been picking blueberries on his farm and found a balloon that was released to celebrate the 100th Day of School. The amazing part of this story is the fact the balloon was from 2008, which was easily identified by its card. Five of the current Marshall Academy Seniors were members of the Kindergarten Class in 2008. Waylon Langston, Erin Burleson, Sonni McKinney, Amanda Barnett, and Grady Brooks are pictured with the letter from Mr. Ivy and the original note which accompanied the balloon.
