Seniors, Josh Thompson and Kristin Mynatt were crowned the 2010 Prom King and Queen during the Junior-Senior Prom, Mississippi Crossroads, held on April 10.

After the Senior-Leadout the Seniors got a chance to dance with their parents during the Junior-Senior prom.  Pictured is Senior Natalee Mitchell dancing with her father Kebin Mitchell during this special time.

The Patriot Press Wins 16 Awards!

On Friday, journalism students traveled to the University of Mississippi for the annual MSPA scholastic journalism conference.  Teams from all over the state of Mississippi compete for various newspaper category awards.  Marshall Academy took home the following awards: 

Team Awards:  2nd place General Excellence; 2nd place Team Sports Writing; 3rd place Team News Writing; 3rd place Team Feature Writing

Individual Awards:  Andy Burleson - 3rd place in News Writing; Sarah Cunningham - 2nd place in News Writing; Emma Elgin - 3rd place Entertainment Writing, 3rd place Editorials, 2nd place Depth Reporting, 3rd place in Sports Writing, 1st place Entertainment Writing; Katherine Farese - 1st place Entertainment Writing, 1st place Ads, 2nd place Depth Reporting, 3rd place Reviews, 3rd place Entertainment Writing
